Paris Saint-Germain have secured the long-term future of head coach Luis Enrique after the Spaniard agreed to extend his contract with the reigning European champions until 2030.
PSG announced the new agreement on Friday ahead of their Ligue 1 meeting with Monaco at the Parc des Princes. The extension represents a further commitment to the coach who has overseen the most successful period in the club’s European history, including consecutive Champions League triumphs.
Luis Enrique’s previous contract was scheduled to expire at the end of the current season, but the 56-year-old has now committed himself to the Parisian club for another three years. His continued presence is expected to provide further stability to a project that has increasingly focused on building a team capable of competing at the highest level over an extended period.
The announcement was made alongside the confirmation of new deals for five PSG players: Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo and Senny Mayulu. The club described the group as important components of its plans for the coming years.

PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi said the contract renewals demonstrated the club’s intention to preserve continuity rather than make short-term decisions.
“They represent the present and the future of our club’s project,” Al-Khelaifi said in a statement.
He added that the club was focused on building for the long term while maintaining its identity and giving supporters further reasons to be proud of the team’s development.
Luis Enrique and the five players who had also signed extensions were given a loud reception by supporters at the Parc des Princes when the renewals were announced. The celebratory atmosphere, however, was followed by a disappointing result as PSG suffered a 2-1 defeat to Monaco.
The loss left the French champions without a victory after three matches of the new Ligue 1 campaign, creating an unusual backdrop for the confirmation of a contract extension for a coach who has delivered unprecedented European success.
Despite the difficult start to the domestic season, Luis Enrique said his motivation to continue working in Paris remains extremely strong.
“It is not the best moment to talk about this but what I can say is that it is the first time in my career -– and I am an old coach -– in which I have stayed more than three years in the same club,” he said after the defeat.
The Spaniard also indicated that his enthusiasm for the PSG project had increased rather than diminished during his time at the club.
“I am more motivated now than I was in my first year here, which is bizarre for me. I am very happy and I hope to be up to the job,” he added.
From European Ambition to Champions League Dominance
Luis Enrique took charge of PSG ahead of the 2023/24 season, arriving with the responsibility of delivering the European success that had repeatedly eluded the French club.
PSG had invested heavily in their pursuit of the Champions League over the years, but their breakthrough under Luis Enrique came in emphatic fashion. In the 2025 final, the Parisian side produced a commanding performance to defeat Inter Milan 5-0 and claim their first European Cup.
Rather than treating that achievement as the end of the project, PSG followed it with another Champions League triumph. In May, they successfully defended the title by overcoming Arsenal on penalties, making them back-to-back European champions.

Since replacing Christophe Galtier, Luis Enrique has guided PSG to three Ligue 1 championships and two French Cups. His new contract gives him the opportunity to build further on that record and oversee the next phase of the club’s development.

The contract announcement extended beyond the head coach, with PSG simultaneously tying several important players to the club for the long term.
Ruiz, the Spanish World Cup winner, has agreed to remain with PSG until the end of next season, with an option that could extend the arrangement by another year. His renewal provides additional continuity in midfield as the club continues to develop its squad.
Portugal international Joao Neves has committed his future to PSG until 2031. Brazilian defender Lucas Beraldo has also signed a deal running through 2031, while Ecuadorian centre-back Willian Pacho has agreed to the same duration.
Young midfielder Senny Mayulu, another player viewed as part of the club’s future plans, has also signed a contract lasting until 2031.
The different contract lengths reflect PSG’s broader effort to secure both established performers and emerging talent. While Luis Enrique will lead the sporting project through 2030, several of the players being retained are now tied to the club beyond that period.
The combination of the coach’s extension and the new player agreements sends a clear message about PSG’s intention to maintain continuity around a squad that has already delivered consecutive European titles.
