Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive start to life in Turkey on Sunday, scoring his ninth league goal of the season as Bursaspor drew 2-2 with Erokspor.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 16th minute, extending his run to seven consecutive league games with a goal.
Iheanacho joined Bursaspor during the summer after a successful spell at Celtic, where he helped the Scottish club secure a domestic double. He moved to Turkey after contract talks with Celtic stalled.
Elsewhere in Europe, Rafiu Durosinmi returned to the scoresheet for Genk, scoring the equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Gent. The forward has now scored five goals in six league appearances since joining the Belgian club.
In the Czech Republic, 18-year-old Linus Zika made an immediate impact for Sparta Prague B, scoring twice in a 4-1 victory over Bohemians. The former Sporting Lagos player came off the bench and scored both goals within 19 minutes.
Taiwo Awoniyi had a difficult outing in England, receiving a straight red card during Coventry City’s 5-0 defeat to Brighton.
Awoniyi was dismissed eight minutes into the second half after catching Maxim De Cuyper in the face with his elbow during an aerial challenge. VAR reviewed the incident and upheld referee Tony Harrington’s decision.
The dismissal is expected to bring a three-match suspension for violent conduct, ruling Awoniyi out of Coventry’s meeting with former club Nottingham Forest, their Carabao Cup tie against Aston Villa and the Premier League clash with Newcastle.
